The faces behind the impact.
Courtney Coulter
Founder &
Executive Director
My name is Courtney Renee Coulter and I am the executive director of There’s Something About Mary. Most people know me as a mother, daughter, sister and friend. In my professional life my patients and colleagues know me as the Program Manager of an Alzheimer’s and Dementia research based clinic at the University of Pennsylvania. It took me many years to figure out my passion. I had become a teen parent at the age of 18 and was forced to grow up much sooner than expected. I remember the day I finished my last class at college. That journey wasn’t easy considering I was a mother of two and worked seven days a week. I was very emotional because I couldn’t believe that I did it. I remember just laying on my grandmother’s bed crying and her telling me how proud she was. She would tell me over and over
"You are beautifully and wonderfully made.
I want you to see yourself as God sees you."

As my faith increased and I started realizing that if I’m struggling to figure out Who I was, I know other young women were feeling the same. I decided to start this organization in loving memory of my grandmother Mary Coulter. She was always a major supporter in my life and others. It is my hope that my experiences along with the experiences from the other women associated with this organization will inspire young ladies to feel supported and pursue a positive direction in life.
